Koster
Piet was influenced as a child by his mother, an opera singer.
She took him to all the Broadway
shows and Operas in the city. Piet's father was a Jazz lover. He
studied Classical piano from age five to fifteen with Donald Waxman and violin
with Scott O'neal.
Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and early BB King were some of the first blues influences. These and many other blues artists played at the infamous Red Rail in Nanuet NY through the 1970's and 1980's.
Since then he has studied with Jerry Patterson, Stephen Davenport, Chris Parker,
Chris Sullivan, Ron Smith, Lynn Seton and Paul Nowinsky.
Piet studied vocals with Jim Carson.
